GJ File Manager offers rename tasks in its image and audio conversion queues. General file browsing still renames one item at a time.
Step by step
- Open the image or audio category in the conversion center and add sample files.
- Choose Rename and enter a template using {name} or {index}.
- Set the starting number and padding; test one file before processing a larger batch.
- Use a separate output folder and verify the resulting files open.
Know the limits
This is not arbitrary in-place bulk renaming for every file type. Check the queue's output settings.

Finder offers a Rename action for a multiple selection. Test its replacement rules on copies and preserve file extensions.
