Verify Mac Project Delivery After Conversion
After converting audio and image files for a client, confirm the exports open, keep intended names, and match the original sources before sealing the delivery folder. This guide walks through a checking routine using GJ File Manager and Finder, keeping originals safe.
Understand the task and delivery context
You have just completed a batch of audio and image conversions for a client using GJ File Manager's conversion center. The conversion tasks may show as finished, but that only means an output was produced. It does not guarantee the files meet the client's needs. Before you seal the delivery folder, you need to verify that each export opens, retains the intended name and format, and matches the original source in content. This verification step is separate from the conversion itself. You will keep the originals untouched and check the outputs in suitable readers or players.
Locate and inspect each converted file
Open GJ File Manager and navigate to the output folder where the converted files were saved. For each file, open it in the appropriate application: an audio player for audio files, an image viewer for images. Confirm that the file opens without errors. Check that the name and format match what the client requested. For audio, listen to the beginning, ending, and any important passages. For images, verify dimensions, orientation, and overall quality. Do not rely solely on the file extension; real conversion should generate the target format's contents. If something seems off, revisit the original and adjust conversion settings, then regenerate and recheck.
Prepare a dedicated delivery folder
In GJ File Manager, create a clearly named Delivery folder and open it in its own tab. This separates your working area from the delivery area. Copy the verified converted files from their output location into this Delivery folder. Inspect the folder contents to ensure you have the correct files: check names, versions, and that each opens properly. Watch for name conflicts and resolve them intentionally rather than replacing files blindly. Remember that a file group is not an automatically assembled delivery package; you must copy the actual files and verify the collection.
Compare against the original sources and client requirements
With the originals kept safe, compare each converted file in the Delivery folder against its source. Ensure the content matches the intended use: for audio, check that important passages are present and clear; for images, confirm size and orientation. Also verify against the client's delivery list, including required format and purpose. A completed task does not guarantee content acceptance, especially for complex documents where layout fidelity may vary. Spot-checking a few passages does not establish completeness throughout a long document, so review important sections, tables, and pages as needed.
Seal the delivery and retain a copy
Once you have confirmed that every file in the Delivery folder opens, has the correct name and format, and matches the original source, you can seal the delivery. If an archive is needed, compress the checked Delivery folder using your preferred method, then inspect the resulting package to ensure it contains only the intended files. Retain a copy of the delivery folder for your records. Before sending, decide on an appropriate sharing method; a group organizes access, but you should copy actual files into the delivery folder and then share that folder. Do not send the original working area or include drafts or internal notes.
